The Defending Champions are Jake Knapp and Patty Tavatanakit
Is there really only one trophy
This week the PGA and LPGA join forces for more silly season golf. A fun event that plays out over 3 days with three different formats. Day 1 is a scramble so . . . low scores. The second day is alternate shot and the final day is a modified four ball. There is a $4 million purse and the winning score last year was -26 . . . for a three day tournament. This is an opportunity, especially for the LPGA, to get a little publicity while having a little fun. You will see more top women in the field relative to the men. Just the third year for this event, not a lot of history or tradition . . . still the kind of event golf needs to maybe bring some new eyeballs.
FUN FACT: This event replaces the QBE Shootout on the schedule . . . you remember, it was also known as the Shark Shootout because of the relationship with Greg Norman. Not surprising the tour decided on a change . . . .
Still not picking this week
But . . .
