We are down to the final dirty thirty for the Tour Championship, the FedEx Cup and a whole lot of money. This event was conceived in 1987 as an event for the top 30 golfers on the previous years money list. Even in those early years this was a big money event, $2 million for Tom Watson at that inaugural event. No more seeding of players by giving them strokes. Everyone lines up on the starting line at even par and the low score on Sunday afternoon gets the pot of gold. Who gets hot at just the right time? Bart Bryant beat Tiger by 6 strokes in 2005 . . . Bill Haas winning from the water?
Another no cut event with a very limited field, I am expecting a certain amount of overlap in our picks. But then again there could always be a surprise . . .
FUN FACT: Tiger Woods won the 2018 Tour Championship but finished second in the FedEx Cup . . . Justin Rose won the FedEx Cup despite finishing T4.
