On the schedule since 2019 where Ji Eun hee was champion.  Her winning check that year was $180k out of a $1.2 million purse.  Last year A Lim Kim took home $300k out of a $2 million total,  . . . you can decide for yourself which political party gets credit for the increase.   Despite what is just an average purse . . . this is for the champions from the past two years.  So a good field . . . plus it is in Florida so it is a home game for most.

It is a pro-am format, with each pro paired with two celebrities/amateurs.  This event does bring out the serious celebrity golfers, past winners in that category include Mardy Fish and John Smoltz.   For the amateurs scoring is the modified Stableford system . . . whatever the hell that is . . . it does entail a maximum of 2 strokes per hole which personally, I would find most helpful.

FUN FACT:  Until the 2022 running, this event was held at the Four Seasons where the 18th hole is a Par 3.   In 2020, there was a playoff which had to be pushed to Monday when the Par 3 couldn’t produce a winner . . . Gaby López finally prevailed with a birdie on the seventh try.

This is a No Cut Event
