The Hero World Challenge is hosted by Tiger Woods with a field of 20. Winners of the year’s four Majors, the Players and the next 11 highest ranked players in the OWGR . . . who accept. That leaves four sponsor invites for whomever Tiger wants to play. The event is part of the PGA Tour schedule, but does not give out FedEx Cup Points or official money. There are OWGR points available (sore subject with LIV). Nonetheless the players take it very seriously as evidenced by Jordan Spieth and Henrik Stenson’s press conference after the final round in 2021 . . . the first group out, they had teed off from the wrong box on the 9th hole.
