This week the Valero Texas Open

Defending Champion is Corey Conners

In the TH the Valero Champion was EMC

This event has a long history, first played as the Texas Open in 1922.  At 102 years old that makes this is the third oldest event on the PGA Tour.   The first Champion was Bob McDonald, one of his three PGA wins . . . he took home $1500 for his efforts.

This is the second time Corey has won this event.   In 2019 he won after Monday qualifying, the first golfer to do that in nine years.  This is the last event before the Masters . . . there will be a few big names in the field this week but most of the top 50 will be home working on their draw off the tee.

FUN FACT:  Born in Scotland, Mr. McDonald fought in the second Boer War . . . not something that comes up often here in the TH.
